ISO14001:2004

The ISO14001:2004 is the internationally recognised Environmental Management standard which sets out the framework for an effective Environmental Management System. It is designed to help organisations make the delicate balance between maintaining profit and reducing their environmental impact.
There are many benefits in implementing ISO14001, which have been summarised thus by Woodside, Aurrichio and Yturri:
- It positions an organisation in the marketplace as an environmental leader
- Provides a framework for the establishment of an integrated approach to the environmental management
